(FreedomJournal.Org)- Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York’s socialist representative, isn’t getting the message that the coronavirus isn’t the time to play politics.
During an interview on April 7, Ocasio-Cortez made the wild suggestion that, during this Chinese coronavirus pandemic, “environmental racism” is a “pre-existing condition” affecting non-white people in New York and the rest of the country. The controversial, far-left congresswoman attempted to argue that racism was playing a part in the outbreak. Somehow.
“Inequality, environmental racism, these are pre-existing conditions,” she said. And when you have a pandemic – similar to what we saw with Hurricane Maria – when you have a natural disaster or an event like a pandemic hit communities that have already been ravaged by weakened health care systems, weakened infrastructure,” she continued.
Ocasio-Cortez then explained how the South Bronx has “one of the highest childhood asthma rates in the country,” and suggested that environmental racism is caused by illegal dumping and the concentration of waste sites, trucking zones, and highways.
What the New York congresswoman failed to explain, however, is how this boils down to race. If a person in the South Bronx suffers from asthma because of environmental conditions, it affects them regardless of their race or ethnicity. A white person living in the Bronx has the same experience as a black person living in the Bronx unless Ocasio-Cortez is calling her constituents racist.
.@AOC on the Coronavirus: “Environmental racism” is a “pre-existing condition” in NYC.

While AOC keeps trying to force far-left talking points into the United States’ coronavirus response, other Democrats are taking a more unifying approach. During a press conference on Saturday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo echoed statements made in mid-March when he said, “this is no time for politics.”
We need unprecedented federal action to respond to #COVID19
I said to the President, this is no time for politics. I don’t care if you’re a Democrat or Republican. This is about saving lives.
I’ll work in full partnership with @POTUS on this—but I ask him to take it seriously

The president is even getting along with the governor of California during this time of national crisis. So why isn’t AOC following suit?
