(FreedomJournal.org)- Senator Ted Cruz and other Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee said on Thursday that they will issue a subpoena to Jack Dorsey, the CEO of social media giant Twitter, over their recent censorship of a New York Post story that detailed possible corruption between the Biden family and Ukraine.
The censorship because so extreme that Twitter banned people from sharing links to the New York Post report in private messages and on their public timelines, and eventually locked White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany out of her account.
“In the last two days, we have seen a remarkable development,” Senator Cruz said on Thursday. “We have seen big tech, we’ve seen Twitter and Facebook actively interfering in this election in a way that has no precedent in the history of our country. Yesterday, the New York Post broke a story alleging serious corruption of Joe Biden and Hunter Biden concerning Ukraine. The allegations in the New York Post story, if true, indicate that Vice President Biden lied when he said that he had never discussed his son’s business dealings.”
The New York Post story used emails obtained from a laptop to suggest that Hunter Biden had arranged a meeting between then-Vice President Joe Biden and a top executive at Ukrainian gas firm, Burisma. Emails also suggested that Hunter Biden may have leveraged his connection to Vice President Biden to increase his salary for being on the board of the energy company.
Facebook and Twitter censored the story citing various terms and conditions. Facebook claimed that it was standard policy to throttle the sharing of stories that their “third-party fact checkers” had yet to verify, while Twitter claimed that they do not allow people to share information that had been obtained through hacking. The New York Times report, however, explained that the emails were not obtained through hacking but instead through legal means.
The laptop is understood to have been left at a computer repair shop in Delaware but was never picked up. By leaving it at the store, the laptop became abandoned property and the owner of the store was reportedly able to legally access the files on the laptop. Once accessing them, the owner alerted the federal authorities who took the laptop but not before a copy of the hard drive was made and given to the New York Post.
“Never before have we seen active censorship of a major press publication with serious allegations of corruption of one of the two candidates for president. That was last night,” Cruz added. “This morning the story escalated and got even worse. The New York Post broke a second story of a series of emails that indicate yet more corruption; in this instance, the Biden family receiving millions of dollars from communist China government officials.”
