Schumer Hailed Dr. Seuss Before It Became Political Dr. Seuss is racist now…did you hear?

( After President Joe Biden joined in with the cancel culture campaign by dropping Dr. Seuss from the annual “Read Across America Day,” eBay chose to stop selling Dr. Seuss books and left-wing groups across the country slammed the books as being derogatory towards non-white people.

The bizarre anti-Dr. Seuss campaign appeared to focus on drawings in his books, which included a Chinese man wearing traditional Chinese attire and holding chopsticks.

“A Chinese boy who eats with sticks,” one page of “And to Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street” reads.

The use of chopsticks is widespread and traditional in China. But apparently drawing it or referencing it is…racist.

With every cancel culture campaign, there are victims…and this time, it’s backfiring on Democrats who have long used Dr. Seuss references. A video of former President Barack Obama quoting Dr. Seuss in the White House in 2015 was recently shared, along with photographs of then-First Lady Michelle Obama surrounded by Dr. Seuss characters and reading to children from a Dr. Seuss book.

And the latest Democrat to be caught in the crosshairs of the super woke is Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Breitbart revealed earlier in the week how Schumer was one of several Democrat Senators who have used Dr. Seuss’s books to make political points, including arguing for Obamacare in 2013 by reading from Green Eggs and Ham.

Schumer referenced Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz’s use of the book, when he read aloud from the famous children’s story to filibuster Obamacare.

“I was also surprised that he used the book Green Eggs and Ham as he read to his daughters,” Schumer said in response.
“Because anyone who knows that book knows that the moral of that book I: try something before you condemn it. You might actually like it! The main character in Green Eggs and Ham resisted eating green eggs and ham. Maybe if he were a Senator he’d speak on the floor for 21 hours. But then, when he tasted green eggs and ham, he actually liked them. Maybe, Senator Cruz, as the president’s health care bill goes into effect, you may actually find that you, and your constituents, actually like it,” he added.

Senator Ed Markey also read from “The Lorax” during an all-night Senate debate back in 2014, when he urged his colleagues to take action on climate change.

So did Dr. Seuss post-humously become a racist, or were the Democrats racist all along?

…or is this all just evidence that Dr. Seuss isn’t a racist and his children’s books are just children’s books with no malicious secret agenda?
