Nancy Pelosi Gets Her Hair Done In San Francisco While Other Salons Are Prohibited From Opening

(FreedomJournal.org)- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is more important than all of us “normal people.”

That’s the message she sent this week when she went to a hair salon in San Francisco Monday to get a hair wash and blow-out. That same hair salon — and all others in the area — remain shuttered because of restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic.

Security footage was released earlier this week that showed Pelosi in the eSalon in San Francisco with her hair wet. She also was not wearing a mask. In the video, a hair stylist wearing a black mask is working on Pelosi’s hair.

Hair salons in San Francisco have been closed since March. They were only recently notified that they could re-open on Tuesday, September 1. And once they re-opened, they were only allowed to provide hairstyling services outdoors.

Erica Kious, the owner of the eSalon, told Fox News that independent stylists who work for her rent chairs in the salon. Speaking to Fox News, Kious said:

“One of the stylists who rents a chair from me contacted me Sunday night.”

The stylist texted Kious saying:

“I’ll be there at 2:45 tomorrow. Pelosi assistant just messaged me to do her hair.”

“I was like, are you kidding me right now? Do I let this happen? What do I do?” Kious said to Fox News. She also said that Pelosi’s visit to the salon is like a double standard. She continued:

“It was a slap in the face that she went in, you know, that she feels that she can just go and get her stuff done while no one else can go in, and I can’t work.”

She also said she “can’t believe” Pelosi wasn’t wearing a mask while indoors.

“We’re supposed to look up to this woman, right? It is just disturbing,” Kious said.

Drew Hammill, a spokesman for Pelosi, tried to defend the speaker’s actions, saying:

“The Speaker always wears a mask and complies with local COVID requirements. This business offered for the Speaker to come in on Monday and told her they were allowed by the city to have one customer at a time in the business. The Speaker complied with the rules as presented to her by this establishment.”

Kious, however, contradicted that statement. She said Pelosi got a hair wash and blow-dry, but “you’re not supposed to blow hair dry,” she said. That’s according to safety precautions that have been given to hair salons during the pandemic.

The owner was particularly disturbed that she’s not allowed to operate her business, but Pelosi can get her hair done. She said:

“We have been shut down for so long, not just me, but most of the small businesses, and I just can’t — it’s a feeling — a feeling of being deflated, helpless and honestly beaten down.

“I have been fighting for six months for a business that took me 12 years to build to re-open. I am a single mom. I have two small children, and I have no income.

“The fact that they did this, and she came in, it’s like a slap in the face.”
