Mitt Romney Predicts Trump Victory in November, Cites These Three Reasons

(FreedomJournal.org)- Republican Senator Mitt Romney is no friend of President Donald Trump, but he isn’t allowing that to cloud his vision on the November election. The failed presidential candidate, who was the only Republican lawmaker to vote in favor of removing President Trump from office after the Democrat impeachment plot, told the Huffington Post about the three reasons why he thinks the president will be reelected.

“There are enormous advantages to being the incumbent, number one,” he said. “Number two, I think [Trump] will tack more towards the middle in his communication that he has so far.”

Romney’s suggestion that Trump will move towards the “middle” is already coming true. Just this week, President Donald Trump, likely under the advice of his new campaign manager, chose to cancel the Republican National Convention in Jacksonville, Florida. The decision means that thousands of delegates and Republicans will not be gathering at a convention center where President Donald Trump will be officially announced as the party’s official candidate.

The move was a big disappointment to Republican diehards but is considered an attempt by the Trump campaign to signal the president’s commitment to protecting Americans from the continued spread of the Chinese coronavirus.

Romney said that the third reason why he thinks the president will win in November is that far-left activists are usually less motivated to vote.

“And number three, I think the voters that ae most animated in opposition to the president tend not to come out to vote – and that’s young people and the minorities,” he said. “They’re active in polls, but not necessarily active at actually getting out to the polls.”

If Romney is right, it could explain how President Trump beat the polls in 2016…and how he could beat them again this time right. Polls have consistently shown President Trump with a double-digit disadvantage to sleepy Joe Biden in virtually all key swing states. If those people turn out to vote, Trump could be in trouble. But as Romney says…they probably won’t.

Romney said the same thing back on June 10, suggesting that President Trump will win the November election and the Republicans would keep the Senate.

“I’m confident that we will keep the majority in the Senate,” he said in June. “And I actually have long predicted the president will be reelected – I continue to think that’s the case.”

Real Clear Politics shows Trump with a disadvantage of 8.7 points nationally. We’ll see just how wrong the polls are in November.
