Israel Praises Rush Limbaugh After His Death

(FreedomJournal.org)- Following the tragic passing of legendary conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a heartfelt statement on Twitter expressing his condolences to Limbaugh’s family.

The great honor from one of America’s closest allies is likely to upset many in the new Biden administration who could see it as an indication that Netanyahu and his country feel closer ties to the Republican Party and former President Donald Trump, who was a close friend of Limbaugh.

“I send my heartfelt condolences to the family of Rush Limbaugh,” Netanyahu said.

“He was a great friend of Israel and he stood by us through thick and thin, always firm, never wavering. We shall miss him dearly,” the Israel Prime Minister added.

The strong message of support from Limbaugh – which was more than President Joe Biden’s total silence – is perhaps unsurprising. Limbaugh was a staunch supporter of the state of Israel and the country’s relationship with the United States.

Famously, after the 9/11 terror attacks in 2001, Limbaugh called on President George W. Bush to give Israel total freedom to attack and destroy its enemies.

“Bush is right about defeating the Taliban, al Qaeda and other terrorist networks,” Limbaugh said. “It is, therefore, necessary that in the pursuit of real and lasting peace, Israel also be free to destroy its enemies – meaning the terrorists and, yes, their sponsors, who are at war with her, and that she do so before they obtain devastating weapons of mass destruction.”

Limbaugh’s words seem almost prophetic, with the United States facing a worsening crisis with the state of Iran, which has threatened to continue enriching uranium to greater levels in pursuit of developing its own nuclear weapon.

May Golan, a Knesset member of the ruling Likud Party, of which Netanyahu is the leader, also expressed her sadness over Limbaugh’s passing.

“For 3 decades Rush Limbaugh gave us a different & unique voice in the American media,” she said.

“He was never afraid to speak his mind & against the establishment when needed, & mostly in his undying support in Israel & her ongoing fight against terror,” she continued.
