(FreedomJournal)- The news of a “hardcore leftist” being arrested by federal law enforcement officials this week for allegedly calling for violent attacks against supporters of President Donald Trump counters the left-wing narrative that the United States is under siege by right-wing Republicans.
The story out of Florida, which alleges a call to arms against Republicans at Florida’s Capitol building, shows just how dangerous and divisive politics has become.
According to a statement from the United States Attorney’s Office for Florida’s Northern District, federal authorities “arrested Daniel Baker of Tallahassee for transmission, in interstate commerce, of a communication containing a threat to kidnap or to injure.”
Baker reportedly “issued a call to arms” for people with similar views to his to “violently confront protesters gathered at the Florida Capitol” on Sunday.
“He specifically called for others to join him in encircling any protesters and confining them at the Capitol complex using firearms,” the statement continued.
Will this obvious threat of political violence be memory-holed by Democrats in the same way as the Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots of 2020?
In a criminal complaint filed by prosecutors, Baker described himself as a “hardcore leftist.” Evidence shows that he has previously indicated his support for dangerous left-wing group “Antifa” – a loosely-organized group of fringe leftists, large in number, who regularly attack people in the street and harass conservatives for holding opposing views.
Baker also reportedly took part in the “Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone” protest in Seattle, Washington, last year. The protest took over several blocks of Seattle city, terrorizing residents, forcing businesses to close, and ultimately resulting in several deaths.
In the charging document, Baker is described as having used various social media platforms to “promote, circulate, encourage and educate followers on how to incapacitate law enforcement officers while at a protest.”
Presumably, Baker wasn’t using conservative-friendly social media app Parler…so why haven’t Google and Apple taken action against the big social media platforms in the same way, despite being used to facilitate potential political violence?
The statement also revealed how Baker was a former U.S. Army Airborne infantryman who was kicked out of service and has a history of expressing his belief in political violence.
“In recent days his social media posts had escalated significantly,” it reads. “He specifically expressed an intent to violently disrupt protests occurring between now and Inauguration Day next Wednesday, January 20, and was actively recruiting others to join him.”
Now let’s wait and see how overhyped the threat of violent Republican protests on January 20 may have been…
