George W. Bush Sides With Liz Cheney In Fight Against MAGA

( Surprise, surprise. Former President George W. Bush has sided with establishment Republican Liz Cheney in her staunch opposition to the Make America Great Again agenda.

Bush, who long refused to criticize former President Barack Obama, has repeatedly stuck his neck out to attack and criticize President Donald Trump and his populist agenda. And on Saturday, the former president called Dick Cheney to thank him for his daughter’s decision to vote to impeach former President Donald Trump.

According to KYMA, Bush supported the vote to impeach President Trump in the House of Representatives.

“Bush’s chief of staff, Freddy Ford, told CNN on Friday that Bush plans to praise Liz Cheney during a Saturday call with his former vice president, her father, Dick Cheney,” KYMA reported.

Ford was asked whether Bush would support Liz Cheney if she faces a primary challenge next year – which is inevitable, to which Ford said they aren’t thinking about the next election cycle yet.

….but they probably are.

“I do know that President Bush is planning to call VP Cheney tomorrow for two reasons: to wish him a happy 80th birthday, and to thank him for his daughter’s service,” Ford said.

Cheney has faced intense scrutiny from her colleagues in Congress recently, with Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz even hosting a rally against her decision to vote for impeachment outside the Wyoming state Capitol building on Thursday.

Gaetz stood outside the Capitol Building and said that even though it was his first time visiting Wyoming, he already knows the place better than representative Liz Cheney.

CNN claims to have a source that said President Donald Trump has repeatedly questioned his allies in the Republican Party about plans to remove Cheney from her leadership positions and began a primary campaign to remove her.

“He has been showing those allies a poll commissioned by his Save America PAC that purports to show that Cheney’s impeachment vote has damaged her standing in Wyoming, even urging them to talk about the poll on television,” CNN reported.

So while President George W. Bush might be on the side of Liz Cheney, it doesn’t look like Wyoming is on her side.
