Democrats Continue To Toot The Russian Interference Horn

( – The Democrats have been blowing the Russian “interference” horn for four years now, and it seems like they don’t have plans for stopping anytime soon. Maybe it’s a defense mechanism; maybe they’re already prepping for how they’ll respond when President Donald Trump wins re-election in November.

Whatever it is, they’re at it again.

A recent New York Times report said that members of the House Intelligence Committee received recent warnings about Russia’s plan to meddle in the 2020 election so that Trump would get re-elected. Apparently, these warnings came from an aide to Joseph Maguire, who’s the acting director of national intelligence.

In almost immediate, knee-jerk response, Hillary Clinton warned Democrats, heck even all of America, that we need to do something about this, saying:

“Putin’s Puppet is at it again, taking Russian help for himself. He knows he can’t win without it. And we can’t let it happen.”

John Brennan, the former director of the CIA, was apparently appalled, too, saying:

“We are now in a full-blown national security crisis. By trying to prevent the flow of intelligence to Congress, Trump is abetting a Russian covert operation to keep him in office for Moscow’s interests, not America’s.”

A lot of the noise that’s out there is that these accusations are legitimate, and that Russia and Trump are to be feared. There isn’t a lot of attention being paid to even follow-up reporting on this topic, including a report from CNN that showed there was no intelligence that Russians would interfere, only that they probably had a “preference” for Trump because of his penchant for being “a dealmaker.”

Even Bloomberg shot down the reports as being legitimate. Here’s what Eli Lake of the publication wrote:

“In fact, [Democratic Representative Adam] Schiff — who was present at the briefing in question — knows that there is no formal intelligence finding that Russia is meddling on behalf of Trump. Administration and House Republican sources tell me that the intelligence official who was briefing the committee went ‘off script’ when asked about Russia’s preference for Trump in the presidential election. No other representatives from the intelligence community at the briefing backed up her assertion, these sources say, nor did the briefers provide specific intelligence, such as intercepted emails or conversations, to support the claim.”

There it is — the claim. A claim with no support and proof.

If this sounds like a broken record to you, then you aren’t the only one. You would think that four years later, the Democrats would just accept their loss to the Trump and the Republicans, that they’d figure out what went wrong with them and try to fix things ahead of the 2020 election.

Instead, they are doing the opposite. They continue to beat this drum of Russian interference, trying to instill fear in the electorate before the primaries have even chosen who the candidate of their party would be.

If Trump wins a huge re-election, as expected, it won’t be a surprise as to why the Democrats fell short. They continue to focus on Trump instead of themselves.
