(FreedomJournal.Org)- A Democratic state representative for Georgia who was hounded and harassed by the Democratic Party for endorsing President Trump has changed his mind about resigning, saying that he has decided to stay in office.
Jones announced last Wednesday that he intended to resign from his position in Georgia’s House of Representatives, citing vile attacks from his own party for supporting President Trump over presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. Just one day after making the decision, however, Jones says the huge amount of public support he received made him rethink his plan.
In a video posted to Twitter, Jones explained how he never expected to receive such a “barrage of attacks and name-calling by the far left in the Democratic party.” The attacks were so strong that he felt he could no longer serve as a state representative, but that all changed after receiving support from Republicans and Democrats alike.
Yesterday, I announced my intentions to resign from my office. But shortly thereafter, the outpour of support I received was too great for me to ignore.
I will not allow the Democrats to bully me into submission. I will not let them win.

“When I started receiving the overwhelming support and outcry from people that I represent in House District 91 in DeKalb and Rockdale counties, my fellow Georgians, and fellow Americans from across this country in every walk of life, every age, every color, every party – that was emotional, and that was motivational,” he explained.
That’s your feel-good story for the week, right there!
Jones explained how he had spoken to his family and his supporters, and that because of how they helped him, he will “remain on the battlefield.”
“I am going to complete my term, I’m going to continue to put my country before my party,” he added.
The hatred he received was really nasty, particularly given that it came from colleagues that know him. The chairwoman of the Georgia Democratic Party said Jones was an “embarrassment” to the party, and another campaign group that was started by Stacey Abrams vowed to unseat him. Now, the local Democratic party is backing his primary rival, Rhonda Taylor.
