CNN Ratings Collapse

( Newsmax, one of the smaller news networks now competing with big names like CNN, revealed on Thursday how far-left propagandist CNN anchor Brian Stelter reached out to the network for comment.

Stelter reportedly contacted Newsmax, a news outlet that has not historically been hostile to former President Donald Trump, to ask about “Newsmax’s ratings declines [sic] for my CNN newsletter.”

The gall! A hugely unpopular left-wing news anchor asking Newsmax, a fast-growing new network competing with the likes of Fox, why their ratings are dropping.

The story is kind of weird, so we’ll let Newsmax start it off:

“Last night, CNN’s Brian Stelter contacted us about “Newsmax’s ratings declines for my CNN newsletter.”

“Stelter contacted Newsmax at 9 p.m. on Wednesday night and said he would give us just one hour to respond, meaning a 10 p.m. deadline,” the outlet revealed.

When Newsmax didn’t respond, Stelter sent out his email newsletter with the title, “Newsmax’s rise and fall.” In it, he claimed that Newsmax TV “gained a lot of attention last fall when disaffected Fox News fans flocked to the channel en masse,” and that the network’s Nielsen ratings have dropped since its initial post-election highs.

And while Newsmax didn’t waste time responding to Stelter at first, they sent an email on Wednesday morning reminding Stelter of just how bad CNN’s ratings are now that President Trump is out of office.

“Only CNN would do a story on Newsmax’s drop in ratings when its own Nielsen total day impressions fell by 45% last week compared to the week after the election, and Brian Stelter’s own ‘Reliable Sources’ show fell by 44% over the same period with, more recently, his show having lost nearly 1 million viewers since January of this year,” Newsmax responded.

Newsmax then requested a comment from Stelter on why CNN’s ratings are plummeting, but he didn’t respond.

Who’d have thought?

It turns out that CNN’s growth during the Trump administration wasn’t because it was a good network promoting positive journalism, but because President Donald Trump was the focus of their attention the entire time.

From pushing the Russia Trump conspiracy theory, proven to be baseless by the FBI’s years-long investigation, to slamming the president as a racist and arguing with him through their proxy, Jim Acosta, CNN hit record highs in viewership because of one thing: President Trump.

And now Joe Biden’s in office, and their coverage is significantly less interesting (or dramatic,) that just leaves Brian Stelter inventing stories for his email newsletter.

As former President Trump would say…“sad”!
