CDC REVERSES Position On Masks, Says They DO Protect From COVID

( The Centers for Disease Control has perform a complete U-turn on its mask advice, now claiming that they can in fact protect people from the Chinese coronavirus. It’s the exact opposite of what the American people were told by health experts at the beginning of the pandemic.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and one of the most high-profile members of President Donald Trump’s COVID-19 White House Task Force, said in March that wearing a mask “might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is.”

The United States surgeon general also told people to “STOP BUYING MASKS” earlier this year, saying they are “NOT effective in preventing general public from catching #Coronavirus.”

If you take a look at the U.S. Surgeon General’s profile picture in Twitter there, he’s now wearing a mask.

But on Tuesday, the CDC completely walked back all advice given by health experts and officials at the beginning of the year, saying they are effective at reducing the emission of droplets. Which is true. They reduce spread, but don’t stop it.

So why didn’t they tell people that from the start?

“Masks are primarily intended to reduce the emission of virus-laden droplets (‘source control’), which is especially relevant for asymptomatic or presymptomatic infected wearers who feel well and may be unaware of their infectiousness to others, and who are estimated to account for more than 50% of transmissions,” the CDC said this week.

“Masks also help reduce inhalation of these droplets by the wearer (‘filtration for personal protection’). The community benefit of these effects; individual prevention benefit increases with increasing numbers of people using masks consistently and correctly,” the CDC added.

Is it a coincidence that this new guidance was released just as Joe Biden was declared the winner by the media, and as he told the country he would be pushing
