BIG TECH BIAS: Reddit PERMANENTLY Bans “The_Donald”

(FreedomJournal.org)- Reddit, the online community that has boards for virtually every topic or interest you can think of, has been used by pro-Trump activists ever since Trump came down that escalator in 2015. One of the biggest boards on the platform was “The_Donald,” a board where people shared information about the president, memes, and organized campaigns. But now it’s gone…because Reddit doesn’t like conservatives having a voice.

On Monday, Reddit CEO Steve Huffman announced that The_Donald had been permanently banned. It had almost 800,000 subscribers, but the platform thought it didn’t meet their “basic expectations” when it comes to moderating content.

Convenient…

In his statement, Huffman said the company was cracking down on boards that don’t meet their standards, and “closing the gap between our values and our policies to explicitly address hate.”

“All communities on Reddit must abide by our content policy in good faith,” he said. “We banned r/The_Donald because it has not done so, despite every opportunity.”

Huffman did claim that views “across the political spectrum are allowed on Reddit” but qualified that by saying “all communities must work within our policies and do so in good faith, without exception.”

The problem there is that all views are not accepted if all views must fall in line with Reddit policies. Policies that say, by the way, that it is fine to attack people who are in the “majority” and that demeaning comments made about people who might be described as part of a “minority” community are not acceptable.

In short – attacking white people is fine on Reddit.

Active board members in The_Donald have been expecting this for some time. Reddit recently quarantined the board, meaning that the posts made inside wouldn’t appear on the front page of the website. It effectively made it more difficult for people casually browsing the website to find the board.

Speaking about the latest instance of Big Tech censorship against conservatives, Republican Representative Jim Banks called on the platform to stop censoring pro-Trump voices online. He told Breitbart that “R/The_Donald played and outsized role in helping Trump win in the 2016 election.”

Yeah, that’s probably why it was banned…

“With 2020 fast approaching, they just can’t help themselves. Reddit has long targeted r/the_Donald – harshly enforcing its content policy there while ignoring more egregious rule-breaking in left-wing communities. It doesn’t take a genius to see what’s going on,” he said.
