(FreedomJournal.Org)- After Joe Biden and the Democratic National Committee pulled off an establishment victory on Super Tuesday, it seems quite rich that Biden now expects Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders to get behind his campaign for the November presidential election.
On Wednesday, Sanders announced that he would be ending his presidential campaign owing to the fact he is many hundreds of delegates behind the former vice president in the race. Sanders was once the frontrunner in the Democratic primaries, but his fortunes changed when several candidates, including Senator Elizabeth Warren and former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, dropped out of the race before Super Tuesday and endorsed Biden.
Immediately after Sanders announced the end of his campaign, Biden reached out to him and his supporters in a post on Medium.
“And to your supporters I make the same commitment: I see you, I hear you, and I understand the urgency of what it is we have to get done in this country,” Biden (or one of his writers) said in the post. “I hope you will join us. You are more than welcome. You’re needed.”
Today I am suspending my campaign. But while the campaign ends, the struggle for justice continues on. https://t.co/MYc7kt2b16

The Medium post continued, encouraging Sanders supporters to rally behind Biden to defeat Donald Trump.
“Together we will defeat Donald Trump. And when we do that, we’ll not only do the hard work of rebuilding this nation – we’ll transform it.”
It might all be a little hopeful, however. Bernie Sanders activists are some of the most dedicated activists out there – possibly on the same level as Trump supporters! Sanders remained in the race because his policies were even more radical than Biden. Sanders also enjoyed a much younger support base, which hasn’t reacted well to the news.

See what I mean?
Biden might be able to rally the Democratic base or anybody who is desperately opposed to President Trump, but he isn’t gaining the momentum that former President Barack Obama did in 2008. He knows that getting Sanders supporters on board is essential to capture the youth, but that all depends on how Sanders reacts to the offer.
